You know how dogs have different temperaments, depending on the breed? It wouldn't surprise me if Chechens were born with the temperaments of stone killers.
Good point. I look at these bombers as determined amateurs. They were good enough to do what it took to pull off the attack and that's where it stops.
Amateur terror cells, incited by generalized rhetoric from jihadist websites, in poor communication with any central structure.
That's what we have in our country right now after over a decade of taking it to AQ overseas, but doing nothing about it here.
So what's your point?
Same as it was before, that this was probably a Muslim version of James Holmes, with a partial Islamist motivation. Partial because they did not go around whacking any civilian they could lay their hands on, the way thoroughly indoctrinated Islamist pros have done in pretty much every attack they've mounted.
Which brings up another question: Why was the father able to go back to Russia for extended visits?
The family came here seeking political asylum - yet they were able to return to Russia repeatedly? Looks like they lied.

We have seen the links on their web pages. They were apparently buying into radical Islam. I don't see any other motivation for what they did other than a radical Islam. If you can identify another motivation, have at it.
And saying that they didn't whack every citizen that they could get their hands on doesn't make your point about their motivation.
Again what we have in this country now our numerous "amateur" jihadists, incited by generalized words on radical websites. They make their make their own "amateur" plans and they carry them out.
It's the new AQ paradigm, for now.
Kahlua at the bar!
