Bradford Pear trees have been banned in some southern coastal areas, where they’ve become known as “Bradford tumbleweeds.” They’re very soft and have an annoying habit of snapping off at ground level during hurticanes, then rolling down the street, breaking out windows and damaging cars.

Bradfords are the worst damned trees ever foisted upon the public by the nursery industry. Fast growing, weak wood, susceptible to breakage between 10-15yrs, just as they’re looking good.
