Not enough data to support suicide screening: panel

There is not enough evidence to recommend universal screening to find people at risk of suicide, according to a government-backed panel.

Does forgetting to use my night guard and dealing with a headache that is killing me, all day?

I do feel like dropping an anvil on my foot to help me forget my headache....

Would finding out that you are at high risk for suicide be enough to send you over the edge?

I don’t think so.

But with 50-100% detection and 20-40% false positive the accuracy sucks.

It is not important, unless you heath care is dependent on the test or something like gun ownership keyed on such a profile. It that case, yes it is important.

I should think they would want gun lovers to off themselves.

How come if you want to kill yourself they lock you up in a mental ward, but if you want to kill your baby you're cheerfully escorted into the PP clinic?
