Brian Schweitzer is taking his time. I wonder why? Is he worried about public opinion?
It is possible to defeat a well-liked Governor in a U.S. Senate race. It happened in Massachustts in 1996 and Wyoming in 1994.
Electoral historians (you know who you are) may recall that it very nearly happened in Nebraska in 1984 and Iowa in 1968 against Republican candidates who were not well-known. So I wouldn’t write if off even if Schweitzer runs.
And Ben Nelson lost in 1996 too. He and Weld who both got 70% of the vote for Governor 2 years earlier.
We need to get Rep. Daines or AG Tim Fox in the race.
