Ayanbadejo fights for equality rights
Fox Sports ^ | April 22, 2013 | BRENDON AYANBADEJO

While the equality treadmill under most of our feet is moving at a high rate of speed, I would imagine this journey is not traveling fast enough for many Americans whose lives are directly impacted by the possibility of change.

Consider tennis hall of famer Billie Jean King, who was outed in 1981 when her relationship with another woman became public, and Greg Louganis, the four-time Olympic gold medal-winning American diver, who came out some seven years after King.

With more than 55 years combined of public scrutiny of their sexuality, the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which restricts some federal marriage benefits to only opposite-sex couples, and Prop 8, California’s state law restricting same-sex marriage can’t come soon enough for these two American heroes and California residents who have forever shaped the face of their respective sports.

The discussion of gays and marriage is becoming an all too familiar script with pro sports. It is part of the brainwashing of the youth and the desire from some to have a high profile active athlete make his homosexuality known. Eventually, I sense that pro sports teams will be wearing rainbow-inspired clothing during games to honor and support this issue. If someone chooses to challenge, then the person will be labeled a hater.

Thanks for referencing that Fx News-related article ConservativeStatement. Please bear in mind that the following critique about the article is directed against Fx News Channel and not you.

As evidenced by the article, Obama guard dog Fx News is unsurprisingly subtly pushing PC interpretations of the Equal Protections Clause (EPC) in Section 1 of the 14th Amendment imo. In fact, the fight against California's Prop. 8 is based on 14A's EPC as evidenced by the fact that the equal protections clause in California's constitution is expressly based on the clause in 14A.

And if some patriots are trembling in their boots because of PC interpretations of the equal protection clauses of federal and state constitutons, its probably because they haven't read the relevant sections of 14A.

More specifically, note that Sec. 2 of 14A actually discriminates on the basis of sex, age and citizenship regardless of the EPC in Sec. 1 of that amendment. So what 14A is really telling us about so-called equal protections is the following. The states can make discriminitory laws based on issues which are not expressly protected by the Constitution, as long as a given states discriminates equally on such issues.

In fact, note that the Supreme Court's Minor v. Happersett case shows us that, regardless of 14A's EPC, the Supreme Court didn't buy Victoria Minor's claim that her citizenship status essentially gave her the right to vote despite a state law that prohibited women from voting.

MINOR V. HAPPERSETT, 1874

But also note that prohibiting voting on the basis of sex was later prohibited with a constitutional amendment.

Getting back to Fx News's constitutionally indefensible pro-equal protections article, it's up to us patriots to get the word out about Fx News's liberal spin on 14A's EPC.

“Equality treadmill.” LOL!!!

It’s just fascism, plain and simple. Fascism masquerading as “equality.”

>>Ah a football player

In the National Felon League.

Once upon a time, players in the NFL had class. Not anymore.

I can’t remember the last time I wasted several hours watching one of their gang-banger thug fests on the Idiot box.
