Teacher to be tried for gun on campus

SAN DIEGO — An English teacher accused of carrying a loaded gun and a knife on the campus of a Tierrasanta middle school in February was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on felony charges.

Ned Carter Walker, 41, faces one count each of possession of a firearm on school grounds and possession of a knife on school grounds. If convicted, he faces a possible sentence of up to five years and eight months in prison.

Walker remains free after posting bond.

It seems to be implied that the police pat down of him was at the school. If he was not on school property with the gun and 2.5 inch knife, then wouldn’t the charges against him be different?

It's only a matter of time until another Sandy Hook massacre happens.

Newtown taught us that school officials are idiots (no armed defense, the doorway was right next to a classroom, and the substitute never got a key) and Boston taught us that gun control is worthless.

Next time it happens we ought to blame the surviving teaching staff. They should be shown NO MERCY and be treated as murderers. In sense, they will have accomplices to murder.

My children will never step foot in a school unless I get overwhelming evidence that the administrative staff aren't idiots.
