I once heard that MA pays more unemployment benefits and welfare than any other state. The figure that I recall for unemployment is $800 per week. It doesn’t sound right, but that’s what I remember.

That sounds about right. But the State just announced that benefits are being cut by 13% because of... drumroll please... sequestration.
