Four large explosions on a fuel barge in Mobile, Alabama could be felt from miles away in Spanish Fort and Daphne, Alabama, over 10 miles away across the river, according to local reports.

The first blast occurred on a natural gas barge on the east side of Mobile River around 8:30 pm local time. Officials told Fox 10 News that there were no fatalities although some crew members did report burn injuries. The first explosion was followed shortly by three more blasts.

A fourth explosion was reported by Fox 10 news reporter Lenise Ligon amidst scanner chatter amongst firemen that one of the barges may have hundreds of gallons of gasoline still on board.

Authorities are reported to have requested a one-mile evacuation zone around the shipyard.

Initial reports indicated that the explosions came from one vessel, although the Mobile Fire Department’s official Twitter feed reported that the blasts came from two barges.

Starting to wonder if we’re seeing “Pink Terror.” According to a Russian defector, the invasion would begin with “accidents” (grey terror) and terrorist attacks conducted by non-Russian groups (proxies, useful idiots, etc, called pink terror). This would increase in frequency until, at last, they begin ‘red terror,’ where they cease bothering to use proxies and covering their tracks, which is then followed by the nuke strikes. This is in the book Spetznaz (but spelled correctly) by Victor Suvorov, but that was only his pen-name. His real name is known, I’ve simply forgotten it.

Thanks. Have the scanner feed up on both my cell and laptop...both silent for now. Do you happen to know if they went to a different channel as they often do in such instances?

chatter amongst firemen that one of the barges may have hundreds of gallons of gasoline still on board...

Authorities are reported to have requested a one-mile evacuation zone around the shipyard...

Coast Guard representatives however told the Alabama Press-Register that a single barge had produced the multiple explosions...

The barges were at the Austal shipyard, early reports said. They were transporting natural gas and were believed to be partially emptied, according to Steve Huffman, a spokesperson for Mobile Fire-Rescue...

The crew on the Carnival cruise liner, which sits an estimated 1,000 feet away from the blast site, has been evacuated, local Channel 6 News reports. Emergency responders plan to let the fire burn out naturally throughout the night, citing conditions too dangerous to approach. Part of Austral, Alabama has also been evacuated.

Fuel barges out on a river seems like it would be a weird site for terrorist activity.
But there do seem to be a lot of bizarre “accidents” lately.

not terrorist. Static charge. Liquid Natural gas very explosive, my Dad (many years ago) worked in the oil and gas industry. All it takes with liquid natural gas is for some poor sob to run his fingers through his hair, or wipe sweat from his face.

Prayers for all the workers.

We heard it where we live.

Remember the Obama campaign worker who died of a heart-attack and only in his 20s? I’m not connecting it to any of this just using it as a reference point that around this time is when events like this began to increase monthly and sometimes on a weekly basis.

Fortunately things are considerably safer today.

But there do seem to be a lot of bizarre “accidents” lately.

Accidents by their very nature are bizarre, and the worse they are the more bizarre they are.

Also you will see the "attention effect." Industrial accidents will get more news coverage, people will be more likely to post them in breaking on FR,etc. The false perception will be generated that there are more of them.

Yes, I have a book which covers that disaster. The scary thing is all the people who showed up to watch the ship burn, just like the explosion in Halifax, Canada around WW I.

“When America’s international support erodes away, explained Suvorov, the “grey terror” gathers in scope and “reaches its peak.”

“The next stage is pink terror, “when active military operations have not yet begun and there is still peace, but when some of the best spetsnaz units have already gone into action.” This leads directly to “red terror” - which is open warfare between major powers.”

Thanks for the links—they’re keepers.
