Imagine a Boston Bombing Every Week (Some people don't have to imagine. They just have to remember)

I empathize with the victims of the Boston bombing; they were killed, maimed, injured, and/or forever traumatized only because they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As they gathered to compete in or watch the marathon underway, they were -- like all terrorism victims -- the epitome of innocent.

But imagine if this happened again next week, at a pizzeria, killing 15 diners. And again, a week later, on a bus, killing 19 passengers. Then at a discotheque, killing 21 teens. Then at a church, killing 11 worshipers. And so on, with a new bombing terrorizing us almost every week.

Israelis don't have to imagine; they just have to remember. Between 1995 and 2005, each year saw an average of 14 suicide bombings, murdering 66 victims. Two thousand two was the worst year, with 47 bombings that slaughtered 238 people. That's almost one Boston bombing every week. Adjusted for population differences, Israel's victims in 2002 amounted to the equivalent of three 9/11s in one year. And these bombing statistics don't include all of the shootings, stabbings, and other violent attacks by Palestinian extremists during those years.

Most Americans (and Europeans), who enjoy lives of far greater security, can barely recall such attacks, because the incidents usually received only scant and perfunctory media coverage, if they were mentioned at all. A few particularly gruesome attacks (like the Netanya Passover bombing that killed 30 and injured 140) were prominently reported, but most attacks were barely and inconspicuously noted, and many smaller but horrific attacks went entirely unreported.

Let’s do some thinking American Thinker:

Post 9/11/01 - President Bush, with advice of our military leaders chose to root out the Taliban and weaken AQ in Afghanistan. Then to tackle Iraq as a major sponsor of terrorism at several levels. (for instance, Iraq actually paid the mothers and spouses of suicide bombers) We, the USA, picked the battlefield on which to fight the WOT. Bush from the very beginning said the US would stand down when the Afghanistan and Iraq military forces stood up - no time table.

The Advent of Obama: Prematurely end battle with Taliban and AQ in Afghanistan and Iraq, weaken our military strength and troop morale, give comfort and aid to our enemies throughout the world. And then offer the streets of America to our enemy as the new battlefield. Yes, many bad people have already come and others are coming to fight on the newly designated battlefield - continental USA!

Our enemies properly look upon what Obama has done as a major victory for Islam and they are coming our way with bayonets fixed.

That’s my opinion and I’m sticking with it.

So the fence caused a lot more attempted attacks?

“Fence’s Fault!”

Yes, and that is good news. We’re really missing the boat by not studying what the Israelis are doing. That drawing of the fence is interesting with the multiple layers. I wonder what’s part of the fence we aren’t being told about. Mines in the trench?

we had bomb threats all the time when I was in high school in the 70s from retards like Bill Ayers

And Puerto Rico separtists. Fortunately they were, rather than retards, incapable of successful physical action. Which is the real reason they teach at Universities and get pardons from folk like Clinton.

I have seen that picture of bill ayres many times and the same thought always enters my mind when I see it. How does a person come to have that feeling about the US? How does it happen?

Beyond "understanding" Bill Ayers, how does Chicago Magazine publish in a sympathetic fashion. That's more important, as a terrorist Ayers was a flop.
