If I had to pick one that stands out it would be John Tolands The Rising Sun.I was planning to bring this up for discussion on Homer's thread prior to the 70th anniversary of Operation Citadel but if you've read it, what is your opinion of The Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer?

I have read it. There have been questions raised about it’s authenticity. There is apparently no record of a Guy Sajer in the German archives. I don’t know; if not a real story about a real Alsatian in the Waffen SS, I don’t doubt that it was an accurate portrayal of what life was like gor a German soldier during WW2.
