President Obama Wants Us to Pay for Abortion-Causing Devices
life news ^ | Steven W. Mosher and Elizabeth Crnkovich

Obamacare’s so-called “contraceptive mandate” has been much in the news. But much of what the administration calls “contraception” is actually abortion.

Take the copper IUD, for example. It is advertised as a contraceptive device, but even the New York Times, in a front page story about Plan B, admits that it causes early-term abortions. How? By preventing the implantation of a developing embryo in the uterus.

As the flagship paper of the liberal media writes, “…research suggests that the only other officially approved form of emergency contraception, the copper intrauterine device (also a daily birth control method), can work to prevent pregnancy after an egg has been fertilized.”

What we are talking about here is what is known as “heavy metal poisoning.” The copper ions released by the IUD create a microenvironment hostile to living organisms, including tiny human beings. This is why, to adduce a crude example, fence posts used on modern-day farms are pressure-treated with copper-arsenic. This deadly chemical cocktail kills all the organisms, from bacteria to termites, that attempt to eat into the posts.

Read for yourselves what a handbook called Managing Contraception for Your Pocket has to say: “The Copper IUD may be inserted up to the time of implantation—about 5 days after ovulation—to prevent pregnancy. Thus, if a woman had unprotected sexual intercourse 3 days before ovulation occurred in that cycle, the IUD could be inserted up to 8 days after intercourse to prevent pregnancy”

Note that the authors are clearly all fervent advocates for a full range of anti-pregnancy drugs and devices. When they assert that the copper IUD can be inserted even at the time of implantation and still terminate a pregnancy, they can be taken at their word.

What this means is that our argument against the “contraceptive mandate” can be strengthened and expanded. The mandate will not only force Catholic employers to pay for abortion-causing drugs like Plan B (the Morning After Pill), it will force them to pay for abortion-causing devices as well. We are not just objecting to drugs that prevent implantation, we are objecting to drugs and devices.

Obamacare actually goes even further. It reaches beyond drugs and devices that prevent implantation to those like the drug, Ella, that cause the death of an already implanted baby. There is strong evidence that Ella, a close analogue to RU-486, can cause an early abortion both before and after implantation.

Our goal is to overturn the Obamacare mandate and, ultimately, to eliminate all taxpayer-funded birth control. Where better to start than with drugs and devices that have been scientifically proven to cause abortions?

By the family planning movement’s own admission, the copper IUD causes an abortion. No alibi will change that fact.

I am going to have to disagree with the writer here. Copper IUDs are no-hormone birth control. They kill the sperm long before they get to the implant stage. Copper is chemically very destructive to something as weak as a sperm cell.

I have read that the copper IUD, if implanted while the woman is pregnant, can abort a fetus. But I would say getting a copper IUD would be over the top to prevent a pregnancy. It’s a procedure and it has to be scheduled. I assume the only way this was proven was some women willing to be experimented on in a hurry.

I don’t have a problem with non-abortifacient birth control, as long as one is not trying to use it to abort their fetus with it, but I am not Catholic...

I should say “They kill the sperm long before the sperm fertilizes the egg, and the zygote implants.”

One more item: since millions of sperm die during sex anyway, killing them all is just not bothersome to me.

I would be all for it if it caused irreversible sterility.

The last thing we need is more leftists infecting the gene pool.

Of course IUDs cause abortion. So do many forms of the pill.

From Pro-Life Facts, on abortion:

“Most people don’t know the real facts about how “contraceptives” work. And because of this lack of knowledge, most women are not aware that they may be having BREAKTHROUGH OVULATIONS, and conceiving children that are killed very early in the pregnancy. Women using these “contraceptives” almost never perceive that they have become pregnant, or that chemicals have killed their tiny baby.”

Do people think BO came in and took over a thriving medical care system that was working well?

If so, why do they?

The doctor patient relationship especially among women and their doctors is one sided. There is a lot of lying going on.

Where are husbands and “boyfriends” on this?

Just because they are silent about it does not mean it is not going on.

The estimate is that through contraception, double the amount of reported abortions have occurred since 1973 (and before, with contraception)

So, about 100,000,000 abortions.

THis is harsh, but until people are willing to do a rudimentary google search, it’s going to be difficult to fix the health care system.

People think doctors are taking care of them. The numbers point to doctors being. . . well, adding to the abortion problem in a big way.

The average ob gyn is there to take guilt away.

This is a simple google search:
From e-medicine:

“With hormonal IUDs, a small amount of progestin or a similar hormone is released into the uterus. These hormones thicken cervical mucus and make it difficult for sperm to enter the cervix. Hormonal IUDs also slow down the growth of the uterine lining, making it inhospitable for fertilized eggs.”

If you think doctors and the AMA are pro life and also interested in the health of patients you are not paying attention.

BO took over a very sick medical care system.

How is it going to stop if we can’t look at what’s going on.

And from Priests for life:

“ ‘Implantation,” of course, refers to the newly-conceived life nestling into the uterus to receive his/her nourishment for the duration of the pregnancy. If contraceptive methods “prevent...implantation,” it means that they kill that newly conceived child.”

The last thing we need is more leftists infecting the gene pool.

That's the silver lining in gay marriage. They won't be producing any more of them.

But then there's the ILLEGAL immigration problem. And they are reproducing like rabbits.

So, we can't win for losing.

That kind of anti life genocidal mentality does not bode well for our country and it speaks to the decline we are experiencing.

The anger with which you respond to this will solidify mey point.

If you attend baseball games and you sing “God Bless America”, keep this mentality in mind and consider it’s compatibility with that prayer.

I think poetic justice would be that his two girls get pregnant by some guy(s) who then hit the road and leave them to care for them on their own. However Barry, doing the right thing would let them murder their babies (abortion) in the trimester as he voted for when he was a senator in Illinois. (yep, feeling a tad Fahklumpt)

The answer to the immigration problem is to go by the rule of law.

Inviting illegals in and then sterilizing them or killing their babies is a weird mentality.

No wonder we are in decline.

Oh come on Stanne, Most illegals are what Sanger called “human weeds” anyway. Are you really surprised?

preventing the implantation of a developing embryo in the uterus.

The New York Times - and all pro-abortion people and organizations - misspeak when they make this statement. Prior to 1973, even Planned Parenthood knew and publicized that "PREGNANCY" begins when a sperm joins an egg - and that implantation happens when the embryo (several days old, after the egg and sperm unite) implants in the wall of the uterus.

If allowed the grow and mature, a child will be born 9 months later. When an IUD prevents an embryo from implanting in the uterine wall, a very early abortion has occurred.

Because of the Roe v. Wade decision, "pregnancy" has been redefined to mean implantation, but it's not - pregnancy still begins when the sperm and egg join, even if our language tries to fool us otherwise. (Look in old biology and junior high school science textbooks to verify the actual beginning of pregnancy.)

And we still discuss Sanger in certain circles and remind others what a genocidal pioneer she was.

Truly a villain to whom history will not be kind.
