In fairness, they’re sitting in the Gallery, probably awaiting an Obama State of the Union address. How happy would you look?
I don’t think the daughters are homely. Not raving beauties, to be sure, but not really homely. It doesn’t look as if they do anything to help their looks along, like proper make up, hair style, clothing choices, etc. Basically, “plain Janes.”
