So why did Romney do so much better than Akin with evangelicals and the staunchest opponents of abortion?

Among evangelicals, Akin got 56% vs 35% for McCaskill. Romney got 76% of their votes vs 22% for Obama.

Among those who believe abortion should be illegal in all cases, it was Akin 65% vs McCaskill at 27%. Romney got 79% of their votes vs Obama at 20%.
