Oh, yeah. He was actually pretty bright but absolutely zero common sense, your classic nerd. I wound up marrying a fellow with considerably more common sense. Better looking, too. (What girl wouldn’t love a GA Tech chemistry major who worked part-time for a fireworks company?) :-)

My youngest called me from Basic Training to say she scored expert with grenades... "Dad, it's so cool to blow s@#$ up!" because she got to throw a live grenade after scoring expert.
