As usual, Pat said much that was right. And, then, as Pst is prone to do, he drops this turd in the punchbowl.
He somehow overlooks the fact we are in the Muslim world for three reasons:
1. We have legitimate interests there -- primarily, the free flow of oil at market prices.
2. We were invited. The Saudis, defenders of the holy shrines of Mecca and Medina, invited the U.S. to base in Saudi Arabia in order to defend the kingdom against the predations of Saddam Hussein.
3. Some of them, without provocation, killed 3,000 of our countrymen -- warranting a deadly response.
In this respect, Pat shares an emotion with the jihadis -- all of these facts annoy him.
But Buchanan is right about the most important part; the need to end Muslim immigration.
True - but just because someone invites use doesn't mean we have to go. I myself have had to live for over 40 years before I discovered the basic truth that I do not have any obligation to associate with people I find objectionable.
