On MSNBC's "Jansing &Co.," Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) said he has "no intention" to run for Florida governor next year.
"Look, I have no plans to run for governor. I have no intention of running for governor," said Nelson, who won re-election last November. "I love this job as senator, except that I am very, very frustrated as we have discussed this morning -- that we can't get anything done because you can't get people together to build consensus."
Nelson's statement comes after Roll Call quoted a "senior Democratic official" who said that the senator was considering challenging Republican Gov. Rick Scott.
Its on the way to being fairly serious. I think he is going to take a very close look at it, a senior Florida Democratic official told CQ Roll Call. Its not very far along. I wouldnt tell you its likely ... [but] I think he will really look at it.

Bill Nelson is out of the running as FL Governor. Guess this paves the way for Crist to run as a Dem.
In other news, Denny Rehberg is thinking of running for MT Senate again. Aaron Schlock doesn’t want to run against Lisa Madigan in the IL Governor race. I think Pat Quinn will be forced to retire.
Rick Scott is one of the most vulnerable GOP Governors. I’d like Rubio to run for FL Governor in 2010, so he can beat Crist one more time.
How do you say charlie Crist in spanish?
Marco Rubio.
Why not run Rubio for FL Governor against Lawton Childs in 1990?
I didn’t know Nelson was considering running.
We really need for someone to primary Scott, Governors as unpopular as him rarely recover enough and win reelection. “Someone else” leads Scott by 1 point in a PPP GOP primary poll from last month.
We can’t lose that plum office, not to that scumsucker Crist.
Alex S(t)ink might also run for the rats.
Even some common sewer rat like Nan Rich could beat Scott, though he leads her (the only declared rat) by 6 in that most recent poll.
Her Majesty the former Governor leads Scott by 12. Vomit.
As for the other races,
Rehberg, meh, but he’s stronger than the state legislators currently in the race.
Aaron Schock, that’s fine, there are fears LaHood Jr would take his seat if he leaves it.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Quinn ran again, but Princess Lisa is taking him down if he does.
