An Indianapolis man has been arrested and charged with murder in the beating death of his girlfriend's 18-month-old son 36 years ago.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said 57-year-old Michael V. Ackerman was arrested late Wednesday in connection with the Jan. 17, 1977, death of William T. (Billy) Wood, whom Ackerman was babysitting at the time of the child's death.

I wonder what evidence they have now, that they did not have then. Brainiacs, they are not.
Testimony of a witness, DNA, he may have talked to a third party. I bet the detectives knew he did it from jump street, but couldn't find enough evidence to convict him. He may have blabbed to someone, or they developed DNA evidence not available at the time.
That SOB and Kennedy cousin, Micheal Skakel, was finally convicted because he blabbed during a group therapy session, and communications made to other members of a group therapy secession are not privileged.
The three year old sister was a witness, she finally came forward.
And why has the mother of the murdered child not been charged? What kind of disgusting pig lets someone murder her child?
