A North Carolina political strategist died from stab wounds after she and her husband were allegedly attacked in their home by their close friend and best man from their wedding.
Jonathan Broyhill, 31, is recovering from "self-inflicted wounds" and was charged with attempted murder after police say he attacked Jamie Hahn, 29, and wounded her husband, Nation, 27, in their Raleigh home Monday night.
Jamie Hahn, who helped raise money for Democrat John Edwards' 2008 presidential campaign, died two days later from her injuries. The charge against Broyhill has yet to be upgraded and it's unclear whether he has entered a plea.

Former Democratic Rep. Brad Miller, who was one of the firm's clients, said Broyhill was under mounting suspicion in the weeks leading up to Hahn's slaying over funds missing from Miller's 2010 campaign.
Miller said the Federal Election Commission sent his 2010 campaign a letter last fall about five donors whose funds never arrived.
"The FEC did send a letter that I just found out about today and the letter was to John Wallace, the campaign treasurer, and he just found out about it today, he told me," Miller told ABC News station WTVD Thursday.
Miller alleges that Broyhill would have received that letter, but never showed it to him or his treasurer. Miller said he suspects that Jamie Hahn was pressing Broyhill about the missing money.
"Jamie was part of our campaign," Miller said. "She was one of those who was asking more and more aggressive questions, more and more insistent questions of Jon."

Its not at all clear to me who was trysting with who, or if there even was a tryst. I read some other backstory to this and it seems the killer, who BTW reminds me a lot of George Costanza, was a third wheel in a strange, too close relationship between the three. I had a relative like that for a while. They eventually got married and have a life of their own now. But it was awkward at the time. As for the murder, it may have been jealousy combined with greed, or a tryst with, shall we say, an unexpected twist to it, but the standard assumptions may not apply. Keeping an open mind ...

But Jamie, she obviously knew about it before today because, Miller says, "she was asking more and more aggressive questions, more and more insistent questions of Jon." But remember, Miller just found out about it today. He doesn't know anything. Except, you know, that the dead lady must have brought it on herself by asking more and more aggressive questions, more and more insistent questions.

stab wounds? I’ve never given much thought to killing myself, but off the top of my head I can think of a half-dozen methods preferable to stabbing myself to death.

Just for the record, I know many posters here think its cute to engage in dark humor when a democrat is involved, but it is still a human life we’re talking about, made in God’s image, even if deluded politically. She was a beautiful young woman and it is a shame that her life had to end in this senseless manner. Sorry if I don’t see the humor in that.

Not to be flip, but Broyhill probably thought his party stole billions from taxpayers every year...so what’s a few hundred thousand (?) between friends? I suspect all Democrat operatives of being thieves...even amongst themselves.
