Rubio condemns Bachmann

Republican Sens. Marco Rubio and Scott Brown joined John McCain in denouncing the congresswoman's Muslim witch hunt

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, a rising star in the party and a potential vice-presidential pick for Mitt Romney, said this morning that he disagreed with Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann’s baseless call to investigate Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the U.S. government.

Appearing on NPR’s Diane Rehm show, Rubio was asked by a caller if he would join Republican Sen. John McCain’s strong condemnation of the anti-Muslim witch hunt on the Senate floor yesterday. While Rubio said he doesn’t personally know Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton whom Bachmann accused of being connected to the Brotherhood, the Florida Republican said, “Wveryone I talk to who has dealt with her, [says she is] a professional and hardworking and patriotic American who loves her country and in the service of her country is serving it.”

“I am not a signatory to that letter,” Rubio said of Bachmann’s letters to the inspectors general of several national security agencies demanding investigations. “I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter. Obviously, every member of Congress has a right to express their opinion and every member of Congress is held accountable for their opinion, if they’re right or if they’re wrong.”

“I can tell you that I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter,” he continued, “And in fact, I’m very very careful and cautious about ever making accusations like that about anyone.”

Rubio’s comments are decidedly more circumspect than McCain’s, but it is still unusual for someone in his position to speak out publicly against someone in his own party. Bachmann has also earned scorn from her former presidential campaign manager, Ed Rollins, who said Bachmann’s witch hunt is “extreme and dishonest.” “Shame on you, Michele!” Rollins wrote.

UPDATE: Sen. Scott Brown, the Republican from Massachusetts facing off against Democrat Elizabeth Warren in November, took to Twitter to strongly condemn Bachmann by name:

Rep. Bachmann’s accusations about Sec. Clinton aide Huma Abedin are out-of-line. This kind of rhetoric has no place in our public discourse

" The article headline is propaganda to promote conflict between conservatives."

Well, it's like this.....any "conservative" who is working to reward tens of millions of freebie-loving criminals with citzenship and make them Democratic voters is, by definition, in conflict with me.

I knew it had to be an older article because the word “Islamist” is no longer allowed. AP kicked it out of the stylebook (along with “illegal alien”), and the book is used pretty much universally among the major news media.

Alex Seitz-Wald is the Assistant Editor of ThinkProgress.org, a project of the Center for American Progress Action Fund

Funded by George Soros

Politico wrote in April 2011 that “The Center for American Progress Action Fund openly runs political advocacy campaigns, and plays a central role in the Democratic Party’s infrastructure, and the new reporting staff down the hall isn’t exactly walled off from that message machine, nor does it necessarily keep its distance from liberal groups organizing advocacy campaigns targeting conservatives.”

Whereas the Center for American Progress is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the fund is a 501(c)(4), allowing it to devote more funds to lobbying.

In 2003, George Soros promised to financially support the organization by donating up to three million dollars. The action fund is headed by Jennifer Palmieri.

They STRONGLY support (infiltrate) the Obama administration.

They also LIE...

Some open government groups, such as the Sunlight Foundation and the Campaign Legal Center, criticize the Center’s failure to disclose its contributors, particularly since it is so influential in appointments to the Obama administration.

In March 2008, ThinkProgress posted that John McCain had plagiarized from a 1996 speech by Rear Admiral Timothy Ziemer. However, it was revealed that McCain had used similar lines in a speech during 1995 and ThinkProgress retracted the error the next day.

In October 2010, ThinkProgress posted that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce was bypassing campaign finance laws by using foreign money to fund campaign attack ads. FactCheck.org called it “a claim with little basis in fact”,while The New York Times wrote, “[T]here is little evidence that what the chamber does in collecting overseas dues is improper or even unusual, according to both liberal and conservative election-law lawyers and campaign finance documents”.

Where can one suppose the big push to turn an ineligible Rubio into an eligible POTUSA came from? Is there any doubt that Norquist, as a/the top GOP band leader was in on setting the stage? GOP might survive as an auxiliary to the Democrats but many people will be looking for some other political channel to swim in as a place the Founding Fathers intended. It will be very interesting to observe what the real meaning of Memorial Day and the 4th of July has for people in the USA. Sometimes as an overseas vet of WWII and with recall of my only brother’s death on Okinawa I am so disappointed in the generations that followed. However, I realize that persons of later generations have very important things and actions on their mind such as baseball, basketball, football, rock concerts, and Hollywood escapades and casino contributions and especially how they can cash in on worthless government employment. By the way I like to watch basketball, not so much football and baseball but never those other needs of society.

In my estimation, Grover Norquist is one of the country's most dangerous agents....for many, many years deftly, nimbly, adroitly moving through, in, and around institutions, organizations and in the halls and offices of DC government.

We have to start Alinsky-ing this too-influential shadowy creep.

I’ve been trying for over 6 years on my blog and here. Years ago, no one would even look at it. So, that’s hopeful.

I know more about Norquist than I do most of my family!!! And he’s worse than them, and that’s pretty darn bad! LOL

Rubio. Gutless wonder and follower of Juan McCain.

We need to make certain that this guy goes nowhere.

Too bad the terms were increased from four to six years!

Violence, aggression, and lying are intrinsic to modammedamism. One cannot change that by ignoring and evading reality. It is the psychopathic and sadistic mohammedans who become terrorists, but the others are supporters, even if they lie about it, and say that they don't support it.

Have you ever read “I Led 3 Lives”? Not the book for the TV show of the same name, but the autobiography of the man who infiltrated the communist party in the United States. He was a anti-war guy at first, though not a communist, who got sucked into it before he realized they were indeed communists and soviet agents. He approached the FBI and was encouraged to stay with the group and gather information.

According to him, it seems the communists literally infiltrated most of the institutions in the United States. From churches all the way to the medical industry. You’ll see big names like the ACLU, before they were known for what they are known for today, who at that time were targeted by the communists for take-over.

There is a YouTube video where he explains the nature of communism and its infiltration of U.S society. He’s a man’s man, though I’m too lazy to go to my bookcase so I can get his name. If memory serves, it is Herbert Philbrick.

When Bachmann was in a furball fight in 2012 against a wealthy, well-back Democrat (hand-picked by Pelosi), the RNC didn’t lift a finger to help.
