In many jurisdictions statute of limitations has run out....mainly because the church kept it secret and the victim tended to be young and scared

It’s my understand there is no statute of limitations on sex crimes.

Often times the church has no knowledge of the offenses. The victims rarely tell anyone. That is why they can offend soften and for so long.
