Reserving ‘judgement’....

....”Dias’ father confirmed that the students from Kazakhstan indeed owned the BMW with the provocative license plate that was on the photo all over the Internet. He said that Dias and Azamat bought the car together some time ago.

Kadyrbayev said that the individualized license plate was a joke gift from their friends in Spain. “This joke led to trouble. But it was just a gag of their Spanish friends, just a gift.” They needed the car to get to their university and go to other places.”...

Oh, well that just clears it up completely. It was just a ‘joke gift’. And they were just ‘joke friends’ with the bomber.

Got it.

A “gag” gift from “friends in Spain”? Sorry, but that’s a bad sign right there. I go to Spain a lot and I love the country, but they have a big problem as a sort of transit point for terrorist activity, and it’s not clear what the Spanish connection with the Chechens was.

There are also huge numbers of Russians (from all parts of Russian, including Chechnya), Russian mafia, and Saudis living in some parts of Spain. It was thought that some of the 9/11 attackers passed through Spain at some point and conferred with and possibly got money and instructions from someone there.

I don’t find “Terrorista #1” much of a joke at all. The only “joke” was probably that they knew they could get away with proclaiming this on the license plate.

It is always good to reserve judgment.

Did daddy say why the sticker on the back said:
‘F*** you, you f****** f****’?

“The two students drive a black BMW 330XI with the personalized plate and a sticker on the back which reads: ‘F*** you, you f****** f****’.

You are not in control what gifts others give to you. However you are in full control of what you do with those gifts. Sure, they needed the car. We all need our cars. But somehow we don't have to wrestle with the decision about license plates. Guess what, the plates came with my car when I bought it! I'm sure this BMW also came with very legitimate license plates, obtained and installed by the dealer. That's what car dealers do for living.

It does not matter where the license plate came from; it could have been printed on a printer in their dorm room, or it could have been made in Karachi, by mullah Omar himself. The only thing that matters is that these idiots thought it just and proper to attach the plate to their car. What could have possessed them to associate themselves with terrorism? How would one even come across such an association? How many people receive a license plate that says "CHLDMLSTR" on it, or "THIEF," or "RAP1ST," and proudly register them as vanity plates? I'm not aware of any; but if I were to see such a thing, I'd become very concerned.
