The argument seems to be that Hawaii was British and was illegally occupied by the US.
Kinda like any other intifada.
Well.....in the 19th century ships of both the British & American navies came calling, each demanding port rights and that Hawaii fly their flag as a goodwill gesture. The King’s counselors advised combining the Union Jack with the Stars & Stripes, and today’s Hawaiian state flag is the result.
But there’s some serious attitude going on in the Islands. Haoles do not go out at night, I have heard, and it’s not because that’s when the statues walk.
