Peter King (R-NY) and Keith Ellison (D-MN) clashed over the former’s calls for police departments to step up their activities in surveilling local Muslim communities, given the alleged Islamic beliefs behind the Boston bombings earlier this month. Rep. King, an outspoken advocate for the domestic “profiling” of Muslims in the ongoing War on Terror, told moderator David Gregory that despite “most Muslims being outstanding people,” it is “critical” for police units to ramp up surveillance of Muslim communities

Hmmm, trying to remember what the religion was of the folks that 1) killed Dead Ted’s equally sleazy brother, 2) attempted to assinate a pope, 3) blew up the marine barricks in the mid-East, 4) blew up the parking lot of the World Trade Center, 5) destroyed the World Trade Center via airliners, 6) bombed the Boston Marathon, 7) take lying to be an eagerly sought after profession, 8) take anything beyond the 7th century to be too much advancement, and 9) have never managed to produce a successful economy when faced with competition.

Should not all extremist groups, regardless of Faith, be under surveillance?
a switch like this isn’t just mainly for politics. the ideology has to appeal to them as a better worldview than what they currently held. if you really are not genuine, the real muslim believers will figure it out and they won’t suffer being played for fools by some phony faker using them as political cover for their own personal gain. besides there’s tons of blacks that convert to islam, it’s not hard to understand how he can be exposed, worked on and genuinely converted.
if they all pose the same threat,yes. but they all don’t. you kind of use something called common sense and go with the group(s) actually carrying out the threats. you don’t waste resources on groups no doing anything just to apear you’re not profiling. it’s’idiotic not to base reaction on profiling. profiling is common sense.
Imagine a 100,000 muslim jihadis with H-1B and L-1 visas working in power plants, fertilizer factories, refineries, chemical manufacturers, hospitals, utilities, dams, pharmaceutical formulators, web hub server farms, municipal water supplies, sewage treatment plants...
and you also have to know “extremist groups” is defined a lot differently than what you’d expect. and you’d be a total leftist idiot to say that christians are an exremist group equal to that of muslims who they can’t even refer to as terrorists per obama and holder.
