Speaking of which, I was curious about the qualifications for supreme court justices and googled it.
The first answer listed was:

Class, I think we’ve found our problem!!
The main qualification should be one who passionately defends the constitution of the US and passionately defends our God-given unalienable rights and passionately enforces the constitutional restrictions on government and to hell with the ABA which is an association advocating for the advancement of *cough cough* the legal profession, ie, ambulance chasers! And to hell with precedent!! It’s not that difficult to interpret the plainly written text and original intent of the constitution!!

Honest to God, as much as I love Sarah, I would rather have you Jim. I just re-read the story of Crockett being schooled by a farmer for voting to give $20,000 to help the folks in the Georgetown fire. He thought he was doing the right thing. He was a very honest man.
The farmer let him know that he would not vote for him again because that money was taken from hard working people against their will. Charity should be up to the people themselves.
That conversation changed Crockett's thoughts on the Constitution for the rest of his life. Sarah Palin may be smarter than you and have more experience, but that farmer let Crockett learn that simple adherence to the U.S. Constitution, as written, was understood by those Americans with steadfast principle. He agreed and apologized for his wrongful vote.

Well, thank you very much, kind sir. But afraid I’d be a bull in a China shop. I’d be breaking every rule and precedent ever set by the court and would actually apply the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, etc, guided by the Word of God and the original intent of the Founders in each and every case coming before me or in which I could assert myself.
Proponents of big government would hate me. It’s a ten minute job or less to see if their pet statist/socialist government project is enumerated and delegated to the federal government by the constitution or is reserved to the states and the people.
Likewise, proponents of abortion “rights,” homosexual “rights,” gun control, etc, would hate me. It’s clearly defined by our founders that our unalienable rights are granted to us individually by God our creator, and that our government was designed for a moral people of free-will that follow His law.
No, you do not have to be a Christian or Jew to live in or vote in America, but you also do not have the right to NOT be offended if God is mentioned in public by a citizen or even a member of government. And government does not have the constitutional power to block a citizen or group of citizens or a person in government or even a government body his or their unalienable God-given constitutional rights to the free exercise religion.
In other words, if a government body, such as the congress, for example, or a state legislature or city council wishes to begin its day with prayer, that is perfectly constitutional. Those who object can plug their ears or quietly leave the room. Likewise, if a school wishes to begin its day with prayer, that’s its business and right. If a school or city wishes to celebrate Christmas or display a nativity scene or put on a Christmas play, that’s its business and right and those who do not wish to participate can simply avoid it. But they do not have the right or constitutional power to ban it or have it banned! The ACLU can KMA!
They’d run me out on a rail within a year.
Btw, I do remember reading about Crockett standing against federal welfare, but did not remember it was taught to him by a farmer. Thanks.
