I have it that General Ham was relieved in real time during the event.

Beyond that no specifics. But it would make sense that he was willing to complete a mission he had ordered even in the face of different orders from Washington.

Something was on station that night and in place for immediate action. Targets were illuminated, giving up position.

Not only did they leave them there. The assets were overhead and in place.

Sickening.

Drawn and quartering is starting to sound like a reasonable punishment.

General Ham Is Still Commander of U.S. Africa Command November 3, 2012

That article was published on November 3, 2012 and Gen. Ham was still listed as the commander of AFRICOM on the AFRICOM website for months after that.
