... the White House -- President Obama called him -- along with former President Clinton, the NBA, current and former teammates, a sponsor, and athletes in other sports.

On Monday evening, hours after his story appeared on the web, Collins wrote on Twitter, "All the support I have received today is truly inspirational. I knew that I was choosing the road less traveled but I'm not walking it alone."

... In Monday's story, Collins writes that the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15 "reinforced the notion that I shouldn't wait for the circumstances of my coming out to be perfect. Things can change in an instant, so why not live truthfully?"

And now, Collins and Kennedy say, they will be in Boston on June 8, marching together at the city's 2013 gay pride parade

Did Obama call Rex Ryan a couple of years ago to congratulate him for being the first open foot fetisher in major league sports?

Why is the President, the sports CEOs and the sports media celebrating some guy who puts his rump up so other guys can poke it?

It is really insane.

Things can change in an instant, so why not live honorably?

I think we know the answer to that. Obama has a thing for homosexual black men who play basketball.

Homosexuality has gone beyond a simple “what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home is their private business.”

It's now portrayed as the most highest achievements one can and should obtain. It's put now on a higher pedestal than hetrosexual relationships and even the nuclear family

Because the President does the same thing and hasn’t got the balls to admit it yet.

I saw an NBA official last night making it clear that whether or not this guy played again would depend on whether or not a team thought he was worth it, not because of his homosexuality. The official seemed to think what I believed all along: the player waited until he made his money and was nearing the end of his career before his “outing”.

What a role model. /s

This guy is a fraud. Heard he has 2 illigitimate children. Admittedly, that’s not many for an NBA Player, but it still contradicts his Gay assertion.

Remember the days when we all understood that it is not normal for a man to be sexually attracted to another man? We all knew something was wrong with that - it never had to be explained. It was something we never pondered, and when we did, it was considered repulsive. It wasn’t that long ago.

The NBA player who will really show courage is the one who will file suit on Collins, claiming he has been traumatized by knowing that a Peeping Tom was in the locker room. How is Collins different from the perverted heterosexual males who are always looking to mount a web cam in the women’s bathroom, or dig a peep-hole in the wall next to the women’s changing room, etc.?

gay pride

Be proud of an abnormal sexual behavior that would result in the extinction of the animal kingdom if it were the norm.

Exactly what is inspirational about the facts that persons with homosexuality are significantly more likely to have psychological disorders, substance abuse problems, suicidal ideation, and to have been victims of childhood sexual abuse and violence?

The relationships of men attracted to men are more likely to be short-lived and are almost never faithful over time. The HIV/AIDS epidemic among men who have sex with men continues unabated and has been linked to substance abuse and sexual addiction. Men who have sex with men are also 44 times more likely to be HIV positive, and far more likely to be inflected with other sexually transmitted diseases.

My guess is that he is celebrating the fact that many people today believe that sexual deviancy with its added health risks is somehow normal behavior? In reality it is a transient popular culture of very foolish people and politicians.
