Why do fish swim? Why do birds fly? You have a bunch of 18 to 24 year old kids who are in close proximity and who aren’t under parental supervision for the first time in their lives. Trying to get them into committed relationships at that age and in that situation is like trying to stop the sun from rising.
(And add in the thorough destruction of the notion of personal responsibility in our culture.)
Most of them haven’t been under parental supervision since they were handed off to the public “education” system.
Trying to get them into committed relationships at that age and in that situation is like trying to stop the sun from rising.

Gee, I wonder who was applying the restraints in the 1930s, ‘40s, and ‘50s. Too many people fall for the line that people just can’t control themselves when it comes to sex.

LOL, I was a telephone repairman for about ten years. I worked in the very wealthy and the very poor neighborhoods. People looking for easy, noncommittal hook-ups” extends all the way past middle age. I got hit on every day of the week, 12 months of the year at least once a day by my customers. At the time I was 35 to 45 years old and 17 years olds weren’t at all shy about asking for a quickie, nor were mid 50’ish women.
Did it have anything to do with the fact that I didn’t wear my wedding ring at work? No, guys who did were hit on just as often as I was.
