racking increased the supply of natural gas and dropped the price so the Saudis were priced out of the market and reduced OPEC power over us.

As of yet, there is very limited replacement for crude oil with natural gas. It is going to continue to grow, but for now it is less than 1%. We have not impacted OPEC with natural gas production.

However, the technology that has released a significant amount of natural gas has also released oil as well, in the locations not shut down by government. Our increased oil production has impacted the amount we import from OPEC.

LNG form Saudi Arabia/OPEC has been stopped by local production of natural gas at lower price as per previous FR article.
