Erie-based Magpul begins making ammunition magazines outside Colorado

Magpul Industries, the Erie-based ammunition magazine maker that pledged to leave Colorado after gun control legislation was signed into law in March, is for the first time manufacturing its weapons accessories out of state.

The company revealed the news in a Facebook reply late Monday night to a customer who expressed frustration with the lack of information about where Magpul planned to move its operations.

“You have lots of people interested in this, might as well satisfy the masses and come out with it already,” Daniel Wooldridge wrote.

This morning, the company provided a little more detail about what it was doing in a second reply to Wooldridge's query. It specifically referenced the manufacture of its PMAG ammunition magazines, which, according to its website, can hold 10 to 30 rounds.

“We have started making PMAGs outside CO for the first time ever,” the posting reads. “The sights are made outside CO. We are actively moving forward with moving other items out.”

Magpul said it would reveal more about its operations, which could include information about a new headquarters location, after the National Rifle Association's annual meeting and exhibition in Houston this weekend.

Magpul made headlines earlier this year when it said it would pull out of Colorado if a bill banning the sale of magazines with 15 rounds or higher in the state became law. Gov. John Hickenlooper signed the bill, along with two other gun control measures, into law on March 20.

The company said at the time it would start moving out of its headquarters building at 400 Young Court in Erie and begin manufacturing magazines again within 30 days.

Magpul had planned an announcement about its future a couple of weeks ago, but wrote on its Facebook page that the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings “make this a poor time for that.”

Magpul employs more than 200 people.

This will make the Boulder liberals very happy.

It's a shame what has happened to the once great state of Colorado.

The Californication of Colorado will continue until the libtards are made to feel some serious pain.

If it can happen in CO, it can happen anywhere. I lived in Denver, was “represented” by DeGette, but all my friends were freedom minded libertarians and conservatives.

I can remember arguing with friends about gun show background checks, and receiving apologies years later after they saw what they wrought.

Compromise means moving leftward.

Just heard an interview with a champion cowboy action shooter that is leaving Colorado as well.

It truly is. I was assigned there at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs form '81-'84. The state had that Western mystique... but then came the Caliban and it's never been the same. Damned near every day, we're hearing stories of bills passed by the state legislature that rival California in the deference to the hardcore left. The problem is... the liberal cancer has metastasized too far for that state to be anymore than a diseased shadow of its former self.

Like California, Oregon and Washington, Colorado is nothing more than conquered territory.

Colorado’s Civil Unions law takes effect at midnight tonight. The Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Denver and Boulder will be open at that time, anticipating brisk demand. Meanwhile I’ll have to take time off work next week to go to the DMV and get tags for my vehicle.

The thing about evil, is when you do it there usually are little immediate repercussions. It is only much later that the real damage kicks it. Like the left shift in these states, it will take a few years for the effects of the losses of the conservatives who move out with their businesses to really be felt. But once it gets so bad you feel it, it is the tip of the iceberg. Immediate changes back to the right, do not bring the factories or the conservatives back. They have made new homes, and new factories elsewhere.

By the time the collapse starts coming on, the move to the left will have accelerated way past breaking even. As the left votes itself more and more state support, they move the financial tax base smaller at the same time! They feel nothing now, and can concieve “things are getting better” ie, more liberal, but what is happening is the water on the beach is going out to sea, the only reason they get more beach, ie liberal lifestyle, is because there is a Tsunami building that they have created to destroy themselves with.

Colorado will collapse and the people will pay for the foolishness for decades. God does not make the rules of Morality to take away the fun, He tells us what will destroy us and to do otherwise. Liberals just refuse to understand that. They want a life with no repercussions so bad they will live it their way anyway.

Damn the torpedos, FULL SPEED AHEAD! Tends to get you deep in the mine field before things go sour.

Well so far Washington State doesn't have restrictive gun control like those other states.. Don't know how much longer King, Pierce and Snohomish will hold back from taking over the state fully.

Besides, why would they leave their new homes to return to a place with proven political schizophrenia.
