UKIP surge to 22% of vote in latest ComRes Poll
ITV ^

Posted on 04/30/2013 2:30:09 PM PDT by UKrepublican

Here’s what we think we do know about Thursday’s local elections.

- The Conservatives will win the most seats; this is their territory

-The Conservative share of the seats will still drop most dramatically; the last time these were contested in the dog days of Gordon Brown’s premiership the Tories trounced Labour

Here’s what we know we don’t know.

- How well UKIP will do

Well there’s a lot we don’t know yet but number one is most important So how well might they do?

A ComRes Poll for The Coalition for Marriage released on Tuesday night suggested that UKIP could win a staggering 22% of the vote.

The same poll put the Conservatives on 31%, Labour on 24% and the Lib Dems on 12%.

Of course this is just one poll, but if UKIP do well at all they could seriously increase the number of seats the Conservatives lose.

As our Election Analyst Colin Rallings has said, the Tories are in line to lose more than 300 seats.

ComRes Poll results:

Conservatives 31% Labour on 24% UKIP 22% Lib Dems 12%.

More than 400 losses and David Cameron will have had a very bad night.

There was a time when it was thought that might have threatened his leadership, although there seems to be less of that kind of talk around now.

But a good showing for them would mark another step on the road towards UKIP becoming a new force in British politics, suggesting the next General Election will be fought not between three main parties but between four.

UKIP continues to surge. This week before the elections (which are Thursday) there has been a concerted effort by other parties to smear UKIP based on a handful of crazy candidates. Obviously being a small party they don't yet have the resources to vet candidates in the same way the major parties do. However as this poll shows, it has backfired, people aren't buying it.

But there will be a political earthquake on Thursday........sadly for me, there isn't a UKIP candidate standing in my district (I'll be spoiling), but there are over 1700 standing where elections are taking place, and I am very confident they will win in the hundreds.

I have never see such enthusiasm for a political party.

Good luck to UKIP. They’re not perfect, but they’re the best hope the UK has.

True, they’re about as good as we’ve got, and they are not afraid to take the fight to the socialists instead of jumping into bed with them like our so called conservative party.

So I’m all in for them.

This has been an interesting thing to follow. Makes me wonder if it portends anything over here in the US, as our own two parties have all but merged into a single big-government, ruling-class party.

Good luck in this week’s election—this sounds like very good news may be forthcoming.

Does the UKIP have an informal leader such as Sarah Palin or Ted Cruz to help gin up enthusiasm leading up to Thursday’s vote? Or is this just a general uprising such as the Tea Party in the US?

I wonder if Lady Thatcher’s passing reminded people of what a real Tory party could look like?

Never heard of them but if they are for freedom and liberty and against fascist socialists I’m for’em.

I would hope so, I think given the financial stranglehold of the main two it would be more difficult, but if the right leader comes up, why on earth not?

You folks are just as fed up as we are, if not more.

Ah, just two questions for you:

What is the “Very Silly Party”?

Where is “over there”?

Other than that missing info, the rest of your post was very comprehensible.

The party has a leader called Nigel Farage. He is an outspoken and proud conservative. I highly recommend watching some of the videos on You Tube and you won't be dissapointed. Here is perhaps his most famous one, upon the European Union electing amongst itself a new 'President' without giving the people a say, Nigel tells him and them a few home truthes in the EU Parliament:

Who are you Mr President? Nigel Farage asks Van Rompuy

Nigel Farage on Islam in the UK

Farage on the EU dictatorship making demands of Greece and Italy

Farage on need for spending cuts

Nigel Farage On Bulgarian & Romanian Immigration

Farage on global warming
