Oops! A casting call for a new host of a children's program on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the taxpayer supported, government-owned television and radio network of Canada, accidentally told the truth, when it specified "any race except Caucasian." See for yourself:
Adrain Humphries of the National Post reports:
A casting call to hire a new CBC host that specifically said white people need not apply has been withdrawn, with the casting agent offering apologies for the mistake.
The original ad for the host of a children's show, posted on the casting agency's website under a CBC logo and on Craigslist, said: "Please only submit [an audition tape] if you match the following criteria: Male between the ages of 23-35 years; Any race except Caucasian."
A new version of the ad removes the race reference, but maintains the sex and age restrictions and that applicants "must be able to carry a tune," "ability to dance or move well is a bonus," and should be "not afraid to show a silly side," among others.
The excuses being made are all of the familiar variety: inclusion, not exclusion. The head of the casting agency which got the contract said:
"We were asked to seek a cast of diversity. We mistakenly took that to mean that the production was not seeking Caucasian actors. This was a mistake that was made entirely by the casting company.
"Of course, it's open to all ethnicities," she said.

This has been going on for a long time. It’s only noteworthy for it now being so entrenched that they feel comfortable stating it explicitly.

I had two openings in my engineering department. I knew two qualified and available candidates, so I asked them to submit resumes. After two weeks, I hadn’t gotten anything from HR. I called one of the guys and he said that HR had told him he wasn’t qualified. I marched down to HR and said, he was qualified and I wanted to set up an interview. I was informed that they were not qualified I was going to hire a black candidate. (I hadn’t known this, but they were collecting resumes only from blacks.)
“Of course, it’s open to all ethnicities.
However, if you are white, you can apply all you want to and you aren’t getting a call. . .
Or maybe you will, and we’ll put in on the short list only to drop you for the fly black kid with the cool kicks. . .
You know, the gay one. . .”

Like most liberal areas, it’s 90% plus, white.
So, they nixed “Caucasian” and replaced it with “Can sing and dance?” How screwed up is that? I’m surprised they didn’t add a reference to watermelons.....

That is hardly a mistake. The modern definition of diversity is exactly that: No whites.

I used to work for a (very) large company where, when an applicant dropped off an employment application, the receptionist noted the presumed race and perceived age of the person.
