(CNN) -- The number of people potentially embroiled in the Boston Marathon bombings case grew Wednesday to include friends of surviving suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Not much is known yet about the three 19-year-old men -- Azamat Tazhayakov, Dias Kadyrbayev and Robel Phillipos.
But here is what CNN has learned so far.
All started at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth in 2011, along with Tsarnaev.
Each is accused of removing items from Tsarnaev's dorm room after the April 15 attack, which killed three people and wounded more than 260.

CNN’s Piers show tonight talked about this for about a minute then showed a video of a Muslim cab driver being harassed by whitey and questioned for 9/11. It certainly balances out the Marathon bombings.

I might normally give someone some benefit of the doubt. Your buddy did a little shoplifting? He's got stuff in his room that might be stolen? Maybe -- maybe! -- a friend would quietly dispose of the stolen goods in order to minimize the problems that their buddy might face. I wouldn't condone such actions, but I could understand that kind of friendship.
Terrorism? Blowing up the Marathon? Killing women and children?
You cleaned up the crime scene? I think life in prison would be fine for you. No mercy for terrorists or their friends. You made your choice, and you chose badly.

Are 2 of these the same ones who had their appt. south of Boston searched within a couple of days of the bombings? Yes. And, as you'll recall, they were taken into custody at that time.
And afterwards, their apartment was visited by two guys who claimed to be from the Boston Globe -- who removed several bags of unknown goods from the apartment.

As for Dzhokhar . . .
According to a university transcript reviewed by The New York Times, he was failing many of his classes. The transcript shows him receiving seven failing grades over three semesters, including Fs in Principles of Modern Chemistry, Intro to American Politics and Chemistry and the Environment. According to the transcript, Dzhokhar received a B in Critical Writing and a D and D-plus in two other courses.
