Of everything I've read surrounding Jason Collins, the NBA center who came out publicly as gay Monday, this column by The Chicago Tribune's Steve Rosenbloom is by far the most disgraceful piece of yellow journalism I've come across yet. Nothing blossoms the left's fascist streak faster than their own sense of puffed up sanctimony, and it is pretty obvious Collins's decision to come out has Rosenbloom puffed up in nine different ways.
In a Tuesday column, Rosenbloom publicly "outed" Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs for having the gall to not express an opinion on the Collins episode. Apparently, a number of Briggs' Twitter followers peppered the football player on the issue and in response Briggs (or whoever handles his Twitter feed) responded with non-responses such as, "How about those Bulls!!"
Obviously, Briggs' unwillingness to express a personal opinion outraged Rosenbloom to no end. The writer not only took to Twitter to badger Briggs for an explanation and devoted a column to his non-answer, but Rosenbloom also decided to publicly declare that there can be only two ways to explain the football star's truculent silence:
One, Briggs might be offering a meta-message meant to say that a player’s sexuality is not an issue.
Or two, Briggs might be a homophobe and intolerant.

This is the crap that has been ruining sports for the past 25 years. I once had a subscription to Sporting News, but when it changed from box scores to “progressive causes” I had enough and the subscription was allowed to lapse. Back then the mantra was addressing “racial equality” in sports, even though it was clear that “minorities” were disproportionately represented on most professional and collegiate rosters.
I refuse to watch any of the sewage on ESPN, which stands for “Endlessly Self Promoting Network.” I want to watch sports for sports, not for political and social grandstanding and witch hunts by the left.
This particular brand of evangelical communism is bound and determined to penetrate every corner of American life, pervert it and shout down any dissent.
I’m not sure what disgusts me more; the perversion of homosexuality or the suppression of the freedom of thought.
Obviously another jock sniffer (in the literal sense) in the mold of Olberpunk himself.
Are we all supposed to say “That’s just Jim Dandy!” about some turd burglar we’ve never even heard of?

I rarely check out Drudge any more but did notice they had a rainbow striped football field in one of the pics accompanying an article.
“Male” cheerleaders with their fairy wands instead of megaphones and dressed all up in their tu-tu’s and ballet slippers.
I’ll watch Oklahoma and Texas Aggies college football from now on.
Have you ever noticed how gays never seek the acceptance from the Muslim church but always from the Christian church? It’s like they inherently know why way real moral authority is going to come from.
True. They also know the Mohammedans will commit violence against them or worse if they attempted it while Christians will respond with kindness like Christ.

I wish that just one Christian spokesperson with the public megaphone had the backbone to point this out and try to make them answer for it, even if just to prove that they can’t.
Professional sports and big name college sports have become the platform for PC in this nation. If only enough people cared enough to stop supporting them. Can they really be that important?
He only came out Monday and was with a female girlfriend for the last 8 years, of course he will need someone to explain his new positions to him.
Maybe a video would do it.

I guess they are just little annoyances that slipped by Dr. Death Gosnell.
Collins’s girlfriend of seven years, Carolyn Moos, says she had no idea he was gay.
Personally, I think this is a fading mediocrity looking for one more big score who thinks he can get it by proclaiming himself to be “gay” (since in PC World, gays are the cool people, after all) and if it doesn’t work, he can sue someone and make almost as much as he’d make on a new contract.
