Quinnipiac: Most Disapprove of Obama Gun Policy

A majority of voters disapprove of President Barack Obama’s handling of gun control, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The Quinnipiac Poll of 1,471 registered voters showed that 52 percent are unhappy with Obama’s approach to gun control, which focuses on an expanded background-check system for purchasers.

The results contrast with a survey released Monday by the liberal-leaning polling firm Public Policy Polling that claimed there was “overwhelming, bipartisan support of background checks” among voters, based on results showing that five senators — four Republicans and one Democrat — have seen their approval ratings plummet in their states after they voted against more extensive background checks.

Voters in the April 25-29 Quinnipiac survey said they are disappointed by the president’s handling of the economy and immigration reform. On the economy, half of respondents disapproved of the president’s management of the economy, while just 41 percent approved.

On immigration, 50 percent of those surveyed were dissatisfied with the president's approach, compared to 40 percent who approved.

But Obama received positive numbers for his handling of foreign policy, terrorism, and the North Korea crisis. Overall, voters gave him a 48-45 percent job-approval rating.

Quinnipiac tends to be very leftist. Hard to interpret this.

Let me interpret that for you... 96% think that gun control is NOT an important issue... 4% do think it is an important issue. Qpac is a bunch of communist droolers but they do want to sell product during elections so their special sauce is registered voters/special demographics called ratio ensures that just a bit of truth peeks out of their polling.

Wow - 95% against more anti-gun laws... and on PBS, even.

Of course, Obamacare polled something like 73% against right before they rammed it through, so...

Where's the 'repeal all' option ?

'Shall not be infringed' is crystal clear, imho.

Free, ie non-incarcerated, men & women are born with the God-given right to protect themselves and their families.

Period.
End of.

[ iow, that 'poll' is typical statist bed-wetter bullshit  ;-]

The fact that the republicans poll worse is very easy to explain....most Conservatives give republicans low ratings...the more important poll than Pubs and Dems is liberal and conservative....conservatives win this poll which is why this is not polled often!!!

The only problem with that is a lot of liberals think they are moderate. Hence you get a 40 to 20 Conservative over Liberal as self identifiers but that's because a lot of liberals lie to themselves or think they are moderate.

These polls against civil rights are for the echo chamber of inside DC. Senators and their staffers rarely see the real world.
