CBO to issue estimates more favorable to immigration-reform bill

The Congressional Budget Office said Thursday it will use a type of “dynamic scoring” to evaluate the new Senate immigration bill, dealing a major victory to the legislation’s backers.

While wrapped in the dry world of economics, the decision helps the eight bipartisan authors of the Senate immigration bill because it will likely show economic growth and higher tax revenues offsetting any new spending included in the bill.

CBO generally shies away from dynamic scoring, which includes knock-on effects of economic growth when calculating costs and benefits.

Actually, this is a huge relief to me. I was a little concerned that legalizing 30 million illegals, allowing them to bring in their families, and then paying for all of their health insurance, food stamps, housing, schooling, and EBT cards might not be best for the American budget.

Show me their spread sheet and their assumptions. There is no way this will be an economic plus. Especially when you consider that millions more will follow and wait for the next amnesty while driving down the wages of those with green cards.
