Indeed. The fact that this notion was even brought up says bad things about the current leadership of the military. I don't know if the rot is in the civilian leadership or the military leadership (or both), but it is obvious that it exists.

It most likely originates with civilian leadership, which would be expected. What is troubling is the apparent lack of push back from the brass.

I have to believe it’s both. Since the current CinC took office, for the most part, the leadership in the military seems like they’ve not just obeyed orders but have supported his “change” thing.
