Bill Maher said something on HBO's Real Time Friday that Barack Obama's fans in the media didn't consider when they promoted the former junior senator from Illinois to the White House.
"This president wouldn't be president if they had caught him" smoking pot. "He'd still be a community organizer" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

During the panel discussion, Maher brought up a joke Obama told at last weekend's White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.
"He said, ‘The media landscape is changing so rapidly you can't keep up with it. I remember when BuzzFeed was just something I did in college around 2 AM,’" Maher relayed. "And that pissed me off because, you know, there are actually people in jail. There are something like 750,000 people who get arrested for pot every year."
"This president wouldn't be president if they had caught him, if that was on his record," Maher added. "He'd still be a community organizer."
Indeed. But Obama's drug use - which included cocaine - didn't bother his devotees in the media.
Not one bit.
For the record, Maher's final comment on this subject was, "I just wonder when he's going to get the memo that pot is the new gay marriage."
So are people opposed to the legalization of marijuana going to be the left's next targets?

No. “Community Organizer” is a publicly funded parking space for out of office Democrats. If he’d been busted he would have been unelectable.
In other words, nothing would have changed if the Community-Organizer-in-Chief had been busted for drugs, as he so richly deserved.
Heck, how would we know if he had been busted for pot?

Why do you even mention kittens and puppies when sacrificing babies is an acceptable procedure that is sanctioned by the SCOTUS?

I think that covers it.
He could have done that back then if he got busted with some pot.
His type could plead oppression by the man or smooth talk his way out of it.
Now he could get caught with a fridge full of body parts and steamer trunk full of kiddy porn and the MSM would say that its a Right Wing frame up.
This is the only argument FOR drug prohibition that I agree with. Too bad he wasn’t busted.
