The only question is how far will they back off. I hope and pray for justice but I have little faith in those people.
For Democrats, any sense of “justice” is tempered by “just us”. While for tactical reasons, they may back away from The Won, still, their resistance is so low, they are easily pulled back in with promises and sweet talk, not forgetting for a moment who exercises the power of the purse.
On the short term, the Executive Branch has wide discretion on directing the funds already authorized by Congress, and apparently, the Current Occupant of the White Hut believes it easier to win forgiveness than to earn permission.
Democrats, every one of them, are made of much less moral fiber than are the more conservative members of the Republican caucus. To be sure, not all Republicans are endowed with much backbone, either, but most of them have been identified and to some degree, they still respond to leverage.

Actually, backing off at this point is logical. He has done huge damage in his five or so years in office. He’s just about played out. The immigration bill is his last gift to tyranny. And it is being run mostly by Republicans for him.
The infrastructure changes made are fundamental and institutionalize a different form of government that we have had before. It is unlikely they will be reversed anytime soon. So all the left has to do now is run out the clock, prevent reversal of the changes, and let time crush the country.
