Well the furniture is great !...:o)

Turned a old enfield into 7.62x54R long ago. Some SF buddies were helping rebels in Chang Mi to do table top conversions....

http://jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/smle.htm

.. Makes a very very nice shooter using cheaper paruski fodder IMO.....

Then enfield and Krag’s are THE slickest actions I know of shy of a custom build bolt gun and cost of .303 vs 54R made the decision easy for me with the enfield SMLE conversion. Cups pressure is almost same etc so its been a great rifle.

Good luck at the shoot... Someday I will make it ...lol !

What I like about the 7.62x54R is the stuff is cheap and ubiquitous.

I picked up a crate of 1200 rounds the other month.
Crappy old 1953 head stamp Bulgarian brass cased stuff.

It works just fine. That is old milsurplus.
Now they make modern 7.62x54R.
Winchester makes it there are nice loads out there and this modern stuff shoots nice.

IMO, it’s not a carry piece. It’s for the range only.
