Is he a Muslim? Ethiopia is about evenly divided between Christians and Muslims. I suspect that if he were a non-Muslim we would have heard about it from the FBI and the media.

Definitely a plausible theory. Murders of Jews who were well acquainted with him, committed on 9/11 shortly before he headed off on his trip. Prime suspect.

Robel is only charged with making false statements, probably because he came clean first. Robel may not be a Muslim, so unlike the two Kazakhs, he had less skin in the game

Thanks, naturalized. I was wondering if maybe he had a dual citizenship and along with that more of a possible flight risk than what they’re letting on. With the judge having to call him down the other day and lying to the feds, he doesn’t seem all that cooperative. I thought maybe the feds would use him as the goat but he can’t get very far with a monitor on him so who knows.

Then there’s that tidbit that his apartment just happens to be next to where “Danny”, the Chinese guy, and his SUV were carjacked. Wonder if the FBI questioned his mother if the Brothers Evil showed up at her place that night and if she knew where her son was.

At 10:30, the Brothers Evil kill the MIT cop.
At 11:00, in the big middle of the feds looking for his friend, cleaning up his friend’s dorm room and discussing what to do with the stuff, he decided to take a nap. What teenager can’t stay awake past 11? He is alone in the apartment when the other two dispose of the evidence. This is the same time when “Danny”, the Chines guy, gets carjacked right next door to Phillipos’ home.
1:00, Phillipos awakes and the backpack is gone. This is the same time as the shootout where Tamerlan is killed.
6:00 AM, after everything the three guys did during the night, they claim they didn’t have the tv on until 6 AM and that’s when they learned of Tamerlan dying and their friend on the run.

Short of being high, dumb as a bag of rock or both used as excuses, does anyone believe his story?
