I think if anyone had heard a woman shouting from a house they have had barbecues at, know the guy for years then anyone would have gone over and helped the girl out.
The word hero has been watered down to suit every incident today by a media looking for angles to get more viewers in order to get the sheep repeating their mantra.
This is such a non story where the media will play every angle , go over the top and use it to get the sheep talking at their water coolers today while the real news is not being covered.
this story affects the country how?
Far more pressing issues at hand right now, fine they are free, he has been arrested why keep covering it, move on

I understand, our media manipulates us, no doubt. But, given the community, I still will give him credit for going over.
I am fascinated by how quickly the media was able to identify him, get his neighbors, his relatives, their relatives on interviews. But, when the Boston bombing suspects were shaping up to be Muslim motivated terrorists, how quickly those outreaches shriveled up.
And, yes, we do face more important issues. No doubt. We can’t drop our focus.
But, please, don’t discount what it was for this guy to go over and help in that community. It isn’t my community where I know my neighbors would help take care of me. These are rough places.

I suppose, for the rest of the country, this is a minor event.
For those of us who live in the area, this is a big deal, and the news broke just last night.
I'm generalizing here, but most violent crime in Cleveland happens on the East side. Sure, there are some rough neighborhoods on the West side, but there aren't nightly shootings or regular violence.
The first girl didn't get much attention, because she was old enough that she could have been a runaway, but the other two girls were young teens that just vanished without a trace off streets that many of us regularly frequent - living, working, shopping. I drive past the Burger King where Amanda Berry was last seen every morning and I'm sure, like many people, I thought about her every time I passed by.
This sort of crime just doesn't happen in West side neighborhoods. It was a dark cloud hanging over the area for over a decade - everyone knew about those two girls and I suspect people with children felt it even more accutely. There was always the possibility of it happening again.
It's a tremendous relief that, not only were they found, but found alive, despite what they've likely gone through.
