I didn't say it can't be done; I just don't understand why people mind if other people opt to get the lapband. I've lost weight and kept it off via WW, but I don't criticize dieters who fail at WW or who simply decide getting a lapband would be easier than dieting for the rest of their lives.

Reread my original message. I did not criticize his decision at all. Personally, if he kept the weight on I wouldn't care. It is none of my business. But since this was posted, I thought I would express my idea that those types of surgeries are quite fraught. If I have to listen to Sharon Osborne & Al Roker complain about the side effects, I think I'll scream.
