I wouldn’t even compare him to Weiner. Weiner is like Clinton (both of them, for that matter): no morals, no ethics, no character. Worse than that, here’s a guy who claims to be Jewish and marries a Mohammadan with ties to terrorist groups and someone that is strongly suspected to have been (or still is) a lover of Hillary’s. These individuals are craven degenerates and enemies of America (and Israel, for that matter).

Neither would I, off the top of my head I couldn’t think of anyone else.

At least that wouldn’t be so damn outrageous as Bill Clinton!!!

And boiling it down to “So morality matters when they vote like you vote, otherwise thay (sic) are worthless filth.”

Such ignorance.

I agree, Sanford's was sleazy in his personal life and his ex-wife is justifiably furious, but comparing him to a treasonous rapist sexual predator like Clinton, or even a creep like Weiner (who takes lewd photos of himself in office and sends his private parts to every chick he meets on Twitter), is TOTALLY over the top and beyond the pale.

Actually, most of the RATs who did what Sanford did (cheated on their wife with one mistress and maintained the secret affair while in power) are still in office and it didn't even faze them -- Gavin Newsom, Antonio Villaraigosa, Jesse Jackson Sr., etc. It's only news on the GOP side because we have shame, unlike the RATs.

It's funny you have numerous freepers lecturing us about having to deal with the cards we were dealt, and telling us we "Have to" hold our nose for socialist RINO traitors like Kirk because the alternative is a liberal Dem, yet so many are not even willing to do so for a solid conservative who had a scandal. Their RINOs aren't angels either... Kirk has PLENTY of seedy stuff in HIS "personal" life. Sad that many freepers give him a pass but not a conservative who actually IS "with us" 90% of the time.

I feel the same way as you guys do. Sanford wasn't my choice in the primary, or the runoff. I wish he had the humility to stay home and let an untainted Republican be the party standbearer instead of insisting on returning to power. But once the smoke had cleared and the choice was Sanford or a socialist Pelosi rubber stamp, it was absolutely clear who we needed to support, and it wasn't Pelosi's gal.

Shame on the freepers willing to let the socialist win just to "stick it" to Sanford. Sanford's mistake was trying to screw a mistress from Argetina. Their mistake was trying to screw America to get revenge on him.

Marky Kirk? I heard he allegedly had a girlfriend once, and of course the gay rumors but that’s ALL I’ve ever heard about his personal life.

You either have a problem with infidelity or you don’t. Choosing whose infidelity is worse is like determining if shooting someone to death or stabbing them to death is a more heinous crime.

I am in no way defending the scumbag Clinton, but please don’t tell me that Sanford isn’t a scumbag. He cheated. He used funds to go on trips to another country to get his rocks off. Just the kind of guy you want representing the populace.

What staffer did he rape?

He raped Juanita Broderick, holding her in position by biting down on her lower lip while he raped her.

He infamously remarked to her as he was exiting and looking at her swollen and bloody lip, “Better put some ice on that.”

Clinton is truly a class act. There is so much evil perpetrated by this dynamic duo, that one can only observe on the remarkable coincidence that the trail of bodies left behind them is long enough to reach from Little Rock to Hope.

The purchase of the Worthen Bank in Little Rock by the Chi Coms was a most remarkable event that should amaze anyone who cared. Billy Goat and Hillary might not have been in bed with each other, but they were in bed with the Chinese.

Yes, Clinton was a rapist and Sanford did stray from the straight and narrow, but it was a far better thing to do to defeat the leftist sister of the leftist would-be comedian.

So what Sanford did is the equivalent of Bill Clinton's rapes? Ok then, interesting position.

Campaign volunteer, excuse me. Of course, I hope you're not seriously going to make a stand over that.

Let's get something straight here... nobody is defending infidelity here. What I & others take exception to is that you were attempting to equate Sanford's poor judgment with the systematic and chronic misconduct of a moral reprobate. That is plain wrong, and if you can't see the degree of difference here between the two, you're being disingenuous.

Do we wish all our GOP/Conservative elected officials were of the absolute highest moral character ? Of course we do. But I've learned you're not going to find many that aren't without flaws. The business of politics in and of itself is dirty, and when that much power, influence and money is involved, it usually corrupts.

Many on our side don't even wish to enter public life because they're worried that past mistakes might be aired (despite the fact that they may have something positive to offer in spite of thoeir shortcomings). Others don't bother because they know the opposition will make up lies about them, anyway.

If you wish to live by such high ethical and moral standards, that's great. Good for you. If you wish to hold our elected officials to said highest standard, that's good, too. Some individuals (allegedly on our side) I similarly hold to that high standard when I believe they will not serve the public good for our cause. It's why I opposed Gingrich in the Presidential primary and why I also viscerally opposed and voted against Willard in the general (himself an ethical degenerate and pathological liar -- despite having a supposedly picture-perfect marriage), voting for Virgil Goode.

The onus is still on Sanford to prove he has something positive to offer during this next year and a half. If he falls in with the same degenerates drunk on power and spending this country into oblivion, he will be swiftly shown the door. In this past election, the choices for the voters in SC-1 were as follows: to give a second chance to a man who previously had an excellent record; to vote for a woman who consistently lied to the electorate in claiming to be a "moderate", when all of her allegiances and supporters came from the far-left of the party; or, to not vote at all. The answer for Conservatives was obvious.

Too bad they didn’t waste more. Getting them to waste a lot of money on races should be a side-goal of ours. The MA Senate special is another. Let the Dems waste $10 million on it.

As I said then, he was the most risky candidate, but potentially the greatest reward in how he’d vote in Congress.

Not only would Mark Sanford a risky candidate, but had Colbert Busch won, she would have assuredly voted in lock step with Nancy Pelosi against the political will and self interests of South Carolinians, who are red state citizens.

Mark Sanford has a 100% conservative voting record. This victory is a two vote swing against the Pelosi agenda in the House.

Adultery is a plus in the resumes of Democrats, but Republicans have in the past been quick to throw their politicians under the bus when there was an incident such as Sanford’s adultery.

I am not condoning adultery, and Mark Sanford has paid a heavy price in public, and in the esteem of his four sons. However, the other day on Fox News MS was identified as the "disgraced former Gov. of SC". And Bill Clinton goes around with the "elder statesman" label? Bill Clinton committed and suborned perjury, has an alphabet soup of scandals and potentially committed rape! No comparison.

Colbert’s brother used to be a middle school teacher in the school district our kids attended. From all I heard, he was(is, I presume) a good guy. Not saying anything about his politics, but he had a reputation as a good teacher.

He has an ex-wife. Supposedly one of the reasons for the split is she was "significantly to the left of her husband", so the ex-wife must be Karl Marx or something. I don't think he's dating since the split.

However, I wasn't even referring to the gay rumors, there's all kinds of stuff out there about Kirk life that raises questions. There's allegations he attempted suicide as a teenager, and of course, he got caught in a huge scandal during his Senate race for embellishing his military record. I'm still trying to figure out why the heck he went to college in Mexico too (don't the DREAM act idiots always claim degrees from American Universities are sooooo much better than Latin American universities, therefore we cannot expect illegal aliens to go to college in their own damn countries?). He also served as an aide in a nursery school for a year (I did as well, and it's VERY RARE to have males in that capacity... the place I was at SHOULD be investigated because they didn't even ask me for a background check until I had been supervising children for two weeks!) and tried to pass it off as having a professional teaching career. Apparently none of the people who work at that nursery school remember seeing Kirk there, either. Then there's the story about him sending out political tweets at the Pentagon when he was SUPPOSED to be working, and that's an illegal violation of military rules.

Bottom line, I'd certainly say it's very likely his "personal life" is just as seedy as Sanford's, it's just that most of it hasn't been made public yet.

Or right his alleged suicide, I forgot about that. And the GF was a wife, right.

He went to college in Mexico? I thought he graduated from Cornell.
