Yeah, I dont feel good about it, said Dayton when asked about the Minnesota Vikings decision to release outspoken punter Chris Kluwe.
Im not in a position to evaluate the relative punting abilities, but it seems to me the general manager said, right after the draft, they were going to have competition, Dayton recalled. Well, they bring the one guy in, he kicks for a weekend and thats competition?
I just think sports officials ought to be honest about what the heck is going on, same way I think public officials should be honest about whats going on, so that bothers me probably as much, if not more, than the actual decision, Dayton said.

Dayton, you were elected to destroy Minnesota’s business base... How about you stay in your lane and the Vikings will refrain from demanding higher taxes.
Guess that opens them up to discrimination charge since they are now a government agency. (semi sarcasm)
You’re hip to the game.
Im not in a position to evaluate the relative punting abilities...”
Then about STFU?
I guess the time is right for changing the name of the league from the NFL to the NPCFL. If Bronko Nagurski was alive today, he’d be spinning in his grave.
LOL! I love it.
Equal opportunity punting in the NFL donchaknow.
If he was....he'd not be in a grave. LOL!!!
Sucks for him! :)))))))))))))) maybe him and Jay Collins can go get a room together.
Chucking at your tagline.
Well, yes it makes for a nice cover. Just like saying you are an alcoholic and need treatment is a good way to buy six months or so.
I liked it...
Mark Dayton, You lie!
He’s a middle of the road punter. They can pick up four tomorrow fresh out of college that are just as good and cost a fraction of his veteran salary.
On a (maybe) related not the Ravens released their second string player who was blabbing about gay marriage before the Super Bowl.
“not” should be “note”.
That's a laugh, coming from the DFL in MN.
The Vikings had a steady veteran place kicker in Ryan Longwell but drafted Blair Walsh from Georgia. Strange move to some. Walsh had a phenomenal season and made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Who knows, maybe the drafted punter from UCLA can duplicate or mimic the kicker in terms of instant success.
Professional sports is an entertainment industry.
If someone doesn’t entertain well, they harm the business.
That’s why they have all sorts of language in their contracts about not trashing the sport, doing good for the community, pledging allegiance to the NFL, etc.
So it’s not only about your athletic ability.
Kinda like being a reporter for a large news network...
I feel that I have some reason to comment here, having lived thirty years of my life in Minnesota. Mark Dayton is without a doubt one of the least able of the Dayton spawn ... lots of money, because of his smart, hard-working forebears, and little common sense. The family bought him a governorship. Now, he spends his hours trying to figure out what he is supposed to be doing. Sad.
Mark, you are not a member of Vikings’ management. You do your job (to the best - cringe - of your ability). Let the Vikings do theirs.
Lil Mark is off his Meds again.
DFL: Dumb F*cking Liberals
‘Put some ice on it!’, Dayton! jerk. he knows about as much about football as he does politics
Affirmative action for liberal thought. Don’t laugh, it’s coming.....
They may be doing him a favor by releasing him early if they have made up their minds to switch.
As far as I’ve ever known, this punter is basically a mediocre no-load.
I’ve followed the NFL for years, I had to go look this dummy up.
If this kind of thing is going on here regarding homosexuality, just imagine, IMAGINE what is going to happen (or is currently happening) in the military with advancement boards.
If I were a fringe player in any pro sport, about to lose my millions per year salary because I’m not as good or as cheap as the young kids coming along, I would declare myself queer to protect my job. What a brilliant idea - wait, too late.
Released for his viewpoint. I hope he sues the Vikings and the NFL for viewpoint discrimination.
“Released for his viewpoint.”
According to the stats he is the worst punter in the NFL. I do not believe it has anything to do with viewpoints. I think it has everything to do with ability.
He would if he had been buried alive.
So... Is this punter a turd poker?
What’s with all the chippy anus lovers these days?
It’s gotten way out of hand.
In Liberal LaLa Land, yes
No pro sports team needs locker room distractions.
