That’s right. Now you understand. Glad we cleared that up.

Sounds like many others agree with Mad Max. But instead of public service, they should probably just cane the punks like they do in Singapore.

Nothing makes a neighborhood look more trashy and gang infested as children playing in the street.

I am a bit confused though. Given that you compare a hopscotch grid to gang sign, in paragraph 4 you say it would be OK on her own sidewalk, but in paragraph 2 you say that it wouldn’t?

I’m beginning to think that you have a point. Public spaces should be as free from signs and markers of human life as possible. Love of uniformity and the aesthetic appreciation of “mass as such” mark the refined tastes of responsible citizens.

This sounds less boring in the original German.

Jawhol!

Öffentliche Plätze sollten von den Zeichen und von den Markierungen des Menschenlebens so frei sein, wie möglich. Liebe der Einheitlichkeit und die ästhetische Anerkennung „der Masse als solches“ Kennzeichen die weiter

You start by being crass and then expect me to have a dialog and explanation with you
over your misinterpretation of my posts. Brilliant. The word for that is Trolling.

I would expect no less from somebody who cannot explain his previous posting
and why those specific pictures. I really don't want to misinterpret the meaning.
That may be why my post was removed, because I got it wrong. So please help me out here.

After reading all of your posts, perhaps I can offer a response.

The overwhelming majority of those who disagree with your point of view simply disagree with your exaggerated description of the dastardly deed performed by the vile and bloodthirsty villain. Due to her transgression and the likelihood that the property value of homeowners in the area will now plummet, we are recommending that the the D.A. push for life without parole!

Most people don’t consider sidewalk chalk as graffiti when used in such a manner, be it on “public property” or private. It’s that simple. You may not approve of it, and that is your right, but most people will cast you in the role of Scrooge for such a viewpoint, like it or not.

Chalking up the sidewalk is bad parenting.

Why?

It was a temporary hopscotch grid that will be washed away in days.

There’s something a little awry with your sensibilities when you think kids playing hopscotch is vandalizing public property that damages property values.

You started out fine but then you went and wrote;
we are recommending that the the D.A. push for life without parole!
Which devolves your whole point by moving the discussion to the extreme.

I get your point even though I don't consider feelings as a rational excuse for
allowing a child to vandalize in such a way that other people must be subjected to it.
And yes, even if it's chalk pictures of cuddly little kittens. Chalk outlines, maybe.

We can’t just hopscotch around the issues of graffiti on public property.
