The first executive order will launch competitions for three Manufacturing Innovation Institutes, partnerships focused on developing manufacturing technologies, and will call on Congress to set aside $1 billion for the creation of 15 such institutes modeled off a pilot program in Youngstown, Ohio.

~~SNIP~~

The second executive order will require that all new government data be available in “open, machine-readable formats” to help technology entrepreneurs and researchers in their work.

your post is ridiculous socialism

more government and tyranical executive orders is not what is needed to “help” manufacturing. what is needed is to get the government out of the way like for example eliminate most of the hundreds of thousands of pages of government regulations crippling businesses and reduce taxes ( U.S. corp tax rate is the highest in the world for example). Eliminating the EPA and environmental laws alone would allow energy companies and manufacturing to explode3 in growth as they can provide cheap energy to manufacturers

how is that gov meddling in education going with the public schools and how most are like prisons now where a kid can't draw a picture of a gun without getting in trouble with these school commies. TSA, EPA,IRS, gov housing ( hell on Earth what is so good about gov ?

did the 2700 pages of obamacare help healthcare. hope you like the IRS now looking at your healtcare

Hope Republicans see Obama’s Billion and raise him to 5 Billion. We got to start making things here.

If I come into your store and steal $1000 from you; only to return later on and buy $1000 worth of merchandise, how much better off are you?

Can't you see that's what you're recommending?

Let's stop here and think for a second. Does "All government data to be available in open, machine-readable formats" include our Medical Records under Obama-Care?

Inquiring minds want to know!!

socialism is ridiculous

more government doesn't work: it hurts the economy and takes away our individual right . yes government growing does that . we need less government less laws and less executive orders.you people are individuals and you are for government taking away your individual rights. as if some gov goon can better take care of you and what you want much less the million of transactions of the free market that are done by million of business experts with their OWN money not some gov grant as in socialism(government running things)

When is enough government enough? there is too much gov.America in the 1800's had practically no gov and that's when it grew faster than any country

"Can't you see that's what you're recommending? "

I'm recommending we start making things here instead of importing them and bankrupting our economy. Romney said we have 24,000,000 people looking for work. The GOP is in need of solving this because these votes are going to the Dems. As for the government seeding the ground, call it socialism, or call it filling a vacuum, I call it jobs.

We should just divert all resources to the government, and make for ourselves a DMV world.

When he was elected, I predicted a 10 year, Carter-level, recession. It appears that I was optimistic.

Between socialized medicine and undefended borders, we may never come out of this.

This is what fundamental transformation looks like.

—— As for the government seeding the ground, call it socialism, or call it filling a vacuum, I call it jobs -——

So why not take another $1 trillion away from productive working people, businessmen, and business owners, and give it to the government?

This will destroy private sector jobs, jobs that are created by the choices of freely trading individuals, and create government jobs, jobs that are demanded by bureaucrats serving political demands.

How does this “seed the ground” for anything except more bureaucracy?

Besides, we tried this already with the Stimulus.

To make it easier for the Chinese to steal.

I think I might sense a pattern here:
1) Medical records under next-gen to all be using the same type database
2) School records under InBloom to be all using the same type database
3) FAA under its own next-gen to consolidate records under same type database
Now buissnesses required to have records under a database….Hmmmmm

"How does this “seed the ground” for anything except more bureaucracy?"

C'mon man private industry has been creating jobs in China not here. That is not helping Romney's 24,000,000 looking for jobs. Private industry will create jobs 'in the long run'. In the long run we will all be dead. The long run ends next pay day.

Government seed money started the computer industry and the spin offs from the space program are still paying dividends. Don't turn your nose up on anything that will create jobs here. It's the only offer on the table.

” Manufacturing with executive orders...

Is that supposed to be more efficient than manufacturing with assembly lines? “

According to the Muslim Marxist, yes!

(means we charge off another billion in bad debt)

If the only offer on the table is to make things worse, by allowing the government to steal even more resources from working people, then no thanks.
