WASHINGTON (AP) — Bipartisan authors of a sweeping immigration bill agreed to Republican-authored amendments to boost border security, as they tried Thursday to show they're open to changes to attract more GOP support for their landmark legislation.
The bill's authors also stuck together to defeat a Republican amendment that would have barred anyone from seeking citizenship until the U.S.-Mexico border had been secured for six months. Supporters of the bill charged that the real effect of that provision would have been to delay citizenship indefinitely for the estimated 11 million people living here illegally.

The Democrats are fighting like dogs over a bone to legalize all illegal aliens - an enormous Democrat voter base that would guarantee elections for years to come.

Unfortunately these are not virtuous people and most do not believe in God. Even if they profess to know God they neither love nor fear him. They are secular humanists who self define morality. They can easily rationalize ignoring the oath because in their minds it has no meaning. There are no binding commitments to people who have no guiding principles.
Look at their lives. Cheating on spouses is more routine than attending church. They lie with no remorse, making outrageous statements they know to be untrue if those untruths advance their personal agendas. Witness Bill Clinton suddenly toting a large Bible to church after the Lewinsky affair or Teddy Kennedy wearing a neck and back brace in public after he drowned a woman. .
These are narcissists who cannot love others or God. A person who cannot love others, cannot love his country. Those who love only self define self worth as having money and power. Acquiring more of both becomes ones reason for being. Without a moral compass to restrain them, they are capable of any act to gain dominion over their fellow citizens. We are naive if we believe these corrupt souls will honor an oath or any other commitment. Our leaders only honor or fear mortal men who possess more power and influence than they.
Rubio has sold his soul for promises of future support in his quest for higher office ( i.e. power). Those to whom he is now obligated have agendas other than the welfare of the citizens of this nation or the future of the nation. Likely they fully understand the implications of what they are doing but they do no care because they do not expect to endure the consequences. Their money and power will shield them today and once they are dead they could care less. The people who wield real power in this nation do not know God so they have no concept of the afterlife.
It remains to be seen if Rubio will receive the payoff for his treachery. He likely does not yet realize his new “friends” perceive no real obligation to him. If it becomes convenient to discard him they will do so without hesitation. For now he, like John McCain and Lindsay Graham, is enjoying the ego gratifying adulation of the media in return for doing the bidding of those we cannot see or know. As the words of the legislation shift to permit an easy road to amnesty, and no real controls on the flow of illegals into this country, Rubio is being forced to compromise his previous positions and lie to cover his tracks. This is all part of the plan to force him to shift his loyalty from the conservative base that brought him to Washington to the unseen power brokers who really control what goes on inside the beltway. By the time this immigration bill passes, his original supporters will be disgusted by him and he will have no choice but to be a slave to the establishment elites if he hopes to continue to grow his wealth and power.
When one becomes a fly trapped on flypaper, the oath sworn to protect the nation and honor the Constitution, has no meaning or obligation.

It’s stories like this, knowing the BS that currently resides in D.C., that makes me wish ‘One Second After’ or the show ‘Revolution’ would come to pass.
Not word one from the GOP ‘leadership’ or the RNC, but both will be there, hands out, for the coming election(s)
