It's easier for bad guys to buy stuff on the street.

I still see directions for a sling shot on the web. Hell...one of them killed a giant!!

Making tiny digital files illegal? Bet a virus will be spreading said file to users all over the globe within a few months.

Meanwhile you can still make a functional firearm in your garage with simple tools.

Dear gun grabbers,

Good luck putting that cat back in the bag. You’ll need more than luck. But what decent government would worry about ordinary citizens being armed? [Ha ha!]

sincerely,

- A Decent American

Once it’s on the Internet it can’t be stopped. They could ban 3D printers but the cat’s already out of the bag.

Nobody asking ‘by what authority’? 1st Amendment Rights, HELLO?!

Good thing torrents don’t worry too much about over-reaching, Unconstitutional Federal edicts.

What’s next, outlawing the hacker-space who can cobble together a 3-D printer from scrap parts (I buy the better quality myself :P)?

I felt so bad for having downloaded it, I surrendered my copy to the DHS... just emailed the file to them as an attachment.

Wait a minute... there’s still a copy on my computer. Now what? Guess I should send this copy too. But then there’d be 3 copies. I’m in a quandary.

It’s, it’s growing...

There’s enough copies out there that they can be put on disk and distributed all over the place in hard copy.Would be cool to see it in my library. The Anarchist’s Cookbook is still out there so what’s the problem?

The Feds should have tried throwing a stimulus at it, they might have gotten lucky. Everything that has been touched by Fed money has died.

Actually this is a godsend the Feds clamping down like this, its just like the ammo situation, EVERYONE is buying ammo even if they have no guns. I will be buying my weekly allotment of ammo of a couple of popular calibers of which I have no firearms for, just because I think I should do it RIGHT NOW.

And here is hoping somewhere in Texas there is a group setting up shop making thousands of hard copies of various Liberator gun designs.

Or millions.

Actually you can buy one of these and build your own AR-15 without a FFL background check.

The criminal fascist syndicate occupying Washington is powerless to stop it. This incident is another of ten-thousand brushfires that the federal fascists have neither the manpower nor resources to stop.

Every patriot needs to think of an action to muck up the federal fascist machinery and implement it. This 3-D weapon is one example of many.

The fascists now need to devote manpower and resources to try to stop the 3-D weapon. That takes away resources that are used to implement their illegal fascist dictates. The strategy is to overwhelm the fascists with problems to solve and get them running around in circles, extinguishing brushfires.

They are using the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, which govern export of arms from the US. Per the munitions list, export of regular firearms is regulated. Also in that same document is:
(i) Technical data (as defined in § 120.10 of this subchapter) and defense services (as de- fined in § 120.9 of this subchapter) directly re- lated to the defense articles enumerated in paragraphs (a) through (h) of this category. Technical data directly related to the manu- facture or production of any defense articles enumerated elsewhere in this category that are designated as Significant Military Equip- ment (SME) shall itself be designated SME.
Since the Internet is global, putting manufacturing instructions on the net is an "export" of "Technical data ... directly related to the defense articles enumerated in paragraphs (a) through (h)", per their interpretation of the regulations.

They used the same approach to try to stop dissemination of PGP encryption some years ago.

Well, let’s see.

1. The Feds essentially declare war on the most patriotic and law-abiding segment of the population.

2. Feds downgrade military, while militarizing every other branch.

3. Feds order enormous amounts of hollow-point ammo, weapons, armored vehicles for non-military .

4. Feds attempt to regulate and criminalize practically everything.

5. Feds intrude into education and media, turn it into indoctrination.

6. Feds intrude into healthcare, begin to destroy it.

7. Feds intrude into economy, systematically undermine it.

8. Feds systematically undermine the Bill of Rights.

9. Feds systematically attempt to confiscate guns form law-abiding citizens.

10. Feds sieze simple, downloadable plans to make a gun at home.

11. Feds begin creating laws allowing control of internet, with contingencies for shutting it down in crises.

12. Fed develops unique attitude towards crises.
