The Franklin Township Board of Education completed its investigation of allegations of racism among a group of girls called the "White Girls Club" at Franklin High School.
Superintendent of Schools Edward Q. Seto announced Thursday night that the board of education had completed its investigation into the so-called "White Girls Club" at Franklin High School, stating that all participants involved were required to go to counseling.
"In the matter of the social media incident that was recorded in the newspaper two weeks ago, an investigation was conducted," Seto said, referring to a Home News Tribune article printed last month that reported a group of girls posted "racially insensitive comments and photos" on social media sites.
A high school student sent the Home News Tribune a series of screen shots of Tweets by members of the club each posing with three fingers creating a "W" — apparently to symbolize "white," with the hashtag "#wgc," the paper reported.
A girl also allegedly retweeted a tweet sent out by a boy that said "the hallways in the high school," and featured a photo of a group of monkeys or chimpanzees. He also posted a photo on Twitter of the Confederate flag hanging on a wall near bleachers of a gym with the Twitter message "south will rise again," the report said. That students tweets indicated he might have been suspended, the report said.
Board president Julia M. Presley told NJ.com last month that school officials had not determined at the time whether the suspended student was connected to the "White Girls Club."

Will the counseling be done by someone from the Black Student Union or the Black Affairs Advisory Counsel?

Not sure what to think of this. This sounds more like an informal private thing that’s been outed.
There is controversy at Towson State about an official group called White Student Union. Their defense is simply that there is a Black Student Union - as there is everywhere!
So self identifying as any ethnicity is OK unless...
At my job, I have been seeing signs for various groups at the elevators: blacks, Asians, homosexuals, women etc.
I keep wondering how long I would survive if proposed a white man’s group.
The Congressional Black Caucus, La Raza, CAIR and the Asian-American Business Forum were unavailable for comment.
This is NJ. It has the strictest law in the country regarding “ bullying,” 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, on or off campus.
I don’t know whether it is constitutional or not, but the law has been upheld on a couple of occasions.
Exactly. What business is it of the school what happens on Twitter?
My guess is the school handbook has policies that restrict what students can do on Facebook and Twitter.

Actually, when my daughter was in school there was a ‘joke’ “white girls club” with about half dozen members who were about as white/pale as it gets. These are the girls who can’t go to the beach in summertime. I guess if it were today they’d be in counseling or suspended or expelled.

Sticks and stones. Back in my day, 50 years ago, there was an exclusive little girls’ club at our school called “The GAY Teens”. Very exclusive. In retrospect, hee hee, it WAS a fitting and unfortunate name. Thankful to have been “excluded”, but at the time, of course, not being invited to join was heartbreaking. - Now, I’m glad to say, “I was NOT a gay teen.” - Back then, bullying took many sinister and sneaky forms.
Notice you won’t see a White Woman’s Group at work, either.
White is absolutely taboo.
Incidents like this is where I fault conservatives. Instead of cow-towing to the liberal Nazis, 10,000 conservatives need to organize and attend the schoolboard meeting. Demand the resignation of the schoolboard, the principal and administrator.
If you can’t get organized enough to protect your children from these Nazis, you deserve every misery visited on you and your families.
50 years? I have a feeling they were still using the word in the proper sense.
Franklin High School is only 22% white. Based on that fact, I'm going to guess the school administration is entirely Democrat, and almost entirely non-white.
The "White Girls Club" was lucky they weren't beaten to death.
