It also takes a Senate with any semblance of honor - which we haven’t had for a very, very long time.

But whatever this select committee is - does it have some legal teeth? Can it subpoena and get search warrants, for instance?

ONLY through the unJustice department, IIRC. But the AG would be suicidal to block such requests. Doing so could get him impeached quickly and removed. Then a new one appointed by the pResident would have to go through Congressional approval ... BUT, IIRC, there is a Congressional act that functions just like a Justice department subpoena. I cannot recall what that summons is called, but it carries the weight of being jailed if the individual refuses to answer the summons.
